Staycation

Sorry for my absence I was taking a "staycation" with my Mom. Well not actually, Mom fell in her bathroom and broke a rib last Thursday night. She spent 5 days in the hospital and is now in a rehab center taking PT twice a day, doing well. The posts you saw while she was in the hospital were ones I had posted in a way that they were doled out one a day. That only lasted so long and that is why there was such a lapse in posting. But I'm back with some sneak peeks from the upcoming Holiday Mini catalog which should be coming to your mailbox very very soon. Not on my mailing list? Place an online order and I will automatically put you on my mailing list.

Today's peek is a bookmark made out of Elegant Eggplant cardstock and the new Designer Series Paper Christmas Cocoa. I embossed the snowflake from Snow Swirled in White and sponged around it with Creamy Carmel. I wiped off the snowflake which resisted the ink and atteched this triangle to the front of the bookmark. It fits right on the corner of your page in case you ever find enough time to go back and read again!!!

Scrapbook pages final take

This last page is really the back of one of the other pages. I will have to go back and "do" the back of the other pages. Of course first I need to find the pictures of my side of the family from this same year. That is a monumental undertaking. I still have one entire 12 x 12 piece of textured cardstock and one 12 x12 piece of patterned paper and plenty of die cuts and other scraps left.

Next Simply Scrappin' Kit I will be using is Moments and Milestones. Who knows what wonders I will make with this one!! Stay tuned.

Scrapbook pages take 3

These two pages use the negative and positive image of the Snowflake Die for the Big Shot. I used one of the patterned papers in the kit to die cut the snowflake and couldn't decide if I liked the snowflake or the image that was left. So being the thrifty person I am, I used them both!!!

Scrapbook pages take 2

Day two still easy as pie. Both pictures are the same page, the second picture just shows the detail of the journaling part made with the Top Note Die for the Big Shot. I folded the Old Olive Cardstock and placed it just under the top of the die. That left the fold so I could hide the journaling .

Scrapbook pages take 1

With the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit scrapbooking is so easy. The hardest part of these pages was finding the pictures in the box in the closet. Yes, it's true, I am not a scrapbooker so you are looking at some of my first 12x12 pages. I will show you two pages a day, enjoy

The project that started the fascination with the SSK.

On page 28 and 29 there is a photo of a string on paper crafted circle ornaments. Take a look for yourself and tell me that isn't cute. So of course I had to order the kit and make my own. I forgot to order the clips so I had to use some mini plastic clothespins which worked out ok. All of the papers and images are from the Christmas Jingle Kit and I added a few buttons from the Fresh Favorites II on page 181. Tied a little piece of Linen Thread in the holes of the buttons to look like they are sewed on. Used a dot of Crystal Effects to glue the buttons down and they will be on there forever and ever. Tomorrow I will show you my attempt at scrapbooking with the kit. I had to do some pages or I would have been using the pieces of the kit until the end of time. Still say it was the best $19.95 I ever spent.

Envelope Card

This is another totally simple card to make that special Christmas present even more special. I used Real Red Textured Card Stock from the kit and used the Scallop Edge Punch along one side. Held it together with some Sticky Strip and made a small card out of Whisper White, decorated both with some of the die cuts and there you have it !

Don't forget to call or email me today to reserve your spot for the Christmas is Coming Stamp Camp. I can only accommodate 8 stampers for this event and the spots are going fast. This is also the first day you will be able to order from the Holiday Mini.

Treat Bag with card

On page 159 in the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog are these Treat Bags. 5 in a package for $3.95 and they are stinking cute! I just put a couple of the die cuts on the front with a little Real Red Grosgrain ribbon and there you go a handmade treat bag. The card also uses the die cuts and the Real Red Textured Card Stock that comes with the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit. I used a piece of the Very Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware that frames the image.

Just a quick reminder September 1st at 7 pm is the Christmas is Coming stamp camp. Make 3 cards, a gift card holder and some Christmas tags all for only $20. Or order $50 that night and the clamp is free! You also would get your name on the 50/50 board, who knows, you could be the winner of $50 in free Stampin' Up! merchandise.

Gift card

I love the Chocolate Chip Textured Cardstock in this Simply Scrappin' Kit. And the die cut strips are so my style. I used the Big Shot and the Top Note Die to make this gift card holder. Fold your cardstock and place just under the top of the die and you get this adorable gift card holder. We will make this kind of gift card holder at the Christmas is Coming stamp camp. Call or email me today to reserve your spot. Make 3 cards, some gift tags and a gift card holder for $20 or a $50 order placed the night of the camp. When is this camp you ask? September 1st at 7 pm at my house.
