Aviary 3 ways
I was looking around Splitcoaststampers the other day and decided to click thru to someone's blog. Helen Read from the UK is one awesome stamper and I was drawn to her birdcage with flowers inside.
Duh!!! Why didn't I think of that, I always just put the dumb birds inside of the cage. Wonder what else you could put in there??? So I cased her card and made three versions. Can't decide which one I like the best. The Happy Mother's Day ! sentiment is from Wonderful Mother which is retiring, I love the sentiment in this stamp set. It is perfect for more than Mother's Day, don't believe me go look for yourself, page 26.
This one uses the leaves and stems from Stippled Blossom and the flowers from World Treasures.
This one uses the flowers from Language of Friendship which is retiring.
This one uses Stippled Blossoms, love this set.
So which one do you like best? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Pop N Cuts box
I love the new Pop N Cuts Die for my Big Shot and I love it even more now that I found out how to make it into a box! Tanya Bell had some directions on her blog and I was off to the races. It only takes a few moments and you have an adorable box that could hold all sorts of wonderful treasures. They are so simple to make that next week in Girl Scouts we will be making these boxes to put treats in for our nursing home friends. I am sure the girls will want to make one for themselves too.
Here are some quick directions.
Die Cut one Pop N Cuts Base and score at 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 4 1/2", 6 1/2", 8 1/2", and 9 1/2".
Use Large Oval Punch to punch handle in each end, punch one and then hold together to make sure they line up while you punch the second oval.
Adhere a piece of Designer Series Paper cut at 4" x 1 3/4" to the third scored section, add other embellishments. I used the new and upcoming Hostess set Banner Greetings and a Bright Button tied with a little White Baker's Twine and attached with glue dots.
Make the sides for the box by cutting out 2 pieces of corresponding cardstock at 2 1/2" x 3".
Score on 3" end at 1/2" and 2 1/2". Turn 90 degrees and score at 1/2" along one side. Cut out little squares and fold. I used Tombow Liquid Glue to attach the sides to the box.
They really are that simple, and even stay closed by putting the tabs into the slots at the top!

May Club Spinner Card
For May's Club I had a request to do a spinner card. And who better to make spin but the whale from the stamp set Oh Whale. I love this whale and the fact that it has a corresponding Clearlit to make cutting it out so much easier why would I pick any other stamp?
Spinner cards are very easy to do and there are a million and one tutorials out there showing you how to make them so I won't bore you with the details and pretend like I just invented something.
Anyways, enjoy the peek at what we will be working on in club this month and make sure you buy Oh Whale before the end of May when the Spring Catalog ends.

Inspired by Artisans
I saw a card that used the Cloudy Day Embossing Folder and it has been stuck in my head for weeks now. I think it was on an Artisan Blog Hop. As I recall the creator used ink and an Aquapainter to color in between the clouds, so I gave it a go. If this isn't how she did it I am here to tell you this method works! Used the Tea for Two DSP on the lower half and Word Play to stamp the sentiment. See a new punched image? Yep, from the upcoming catalog. The Marina Mist Striped Organdy Ribbon really added something I think. Everything used on this card other than the Marina Mist card base will be retiring or is in the Spring Catalog and will all be gone the end of May. Well not the punch cause you can't even order that yet! C'mon May 31st, that is when you can order from all 3 catalogs, the Spring Catalog, this year's catalog and the new catalog. I have a feeling I am going to be very busy on May 31st.
Looking at this card just makes me smile, hope it does the same for you.

Look what I got !!!!
Some of my preorder things came today and I could not wait to rip open that box! Best thing about being a demo, you get the good stuff before anyone else! First thing I had to do was play with the new clay and molds. I can't show the molds to you but I can show you what I made with them.
Couple of tips, they are very light and blow away outside and land face side down in the dirt and if they aren't totally dry they pick up little flecks of your dirty porch on them too. Tip two, clear your work area so it is free of all dog and cat hair, just sayin'.
And without further ado, lookie!!!!
Buttons and flowers that you make and then you can color anyway you want! I will be making millions of these, can you imagine what an adorable button bracelet these could make?

Mother's Day. Teacher appreciation. Just because.
Mother's Day. Teacher appreciation. Just because. Say thank you with this no-maintenance bouquet. There's no watering, no weeding-just enjoying. This easy-to-assemble kit comes complete with the petals, stems, and buttons to create the flowers, as well as four different tags to make this the perfect gift for any occasion. All you need is some paper, ribbon or a vase to add the finishing touches to the bouquet.
As if that weren't enough, the kit contains a "baker's dozen"! This means you can create and give (or keep) a dozen flowers, and have a bonus flower left over to pass along to someone new! Give it to someone you wouldn't normally think of: a teller at the bank, a grocery store clerk, or the librarian at your local library. Anyone you encounter on your way that you'd like to give a little "thank you" to-and introduce them to Stampin' Up!
