Sneak peek from Spring Catalog
I saw these whales in the new Spring Catalog and I just knew I had to have them immediately. They have a matching Sizzlet Die that die cuts those adorable little whales out for you! The DSP used is from the Sale A Bration offerings and is called Sycamore Street and the other side is just as beautiful as this side. This side had an ocean feel for me. I made this card in under 15 minutes, it was so easy with all of the great tools Stampin' Up! has available for us to use. With everyone around me being sick I decided that Get Whale Soon was a sentiment I am going to be using a lot this winter.

Project for the new year
I mentioned that my daughter and I are going to start a new project for the new year. It involves scrapbooking something we both have dabbled in but never really got serious about before now. We are using Stampin' Up! divided page protectors that come in a pack of 10 for $5.95. We will be taking photos during the week and then trying to scrap what we did each week. Using the divided page protectors should keep it interesting as they have different options on each page. I decided to start early with some Instagram photos Kaylee took of our chickens. It is still a work in progress so stop back to see the finished page.

Christmas in a box
I made my Sister in Law a little present for Christmas. Inside the box was a movie gift card and some Rolos. I picked Rolos because of the shape and the fact that I DO NOT like Rolos so they would be safe from a late night chocolate craving. I followed the directions of a very talented stamper Brenda Quintana. The front uses one of my favorite stamp sets from the Holiday Catalog, Scensational Season, available for just a few more days. The trees are stamped in Tempting Turquoise and then over stamped with the sentiment from Sassy Salutations in Real Red. Cute, cute, cute, or at least I think so.
I will be placing an order on Monday December 31st at 10 pm if you want to combine orders to save on S&H. Just email or call and we can get it all set to go. Stop back Friday for a sneak peak on a project Kaylee and I are doing in the coming year.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to all of my crafty friends, I just had to share this photo with all of you. We helped my Mom put up her tree again this year and this beautiful chain and pink pinecone have adorned her tree for over 50 years. I made these two wonderful Christmas presents in Kindergarten and they have graced our family tree every year since then. So as I look out the window of our log home wishing for snow and seeing only misty yucky rain my heart sings with the warm fuzzy feeling that knowing you will be with family for Christmas brings, well at least it does for my family!!!
So Merry Christmas to all and a very stampy New Year too.

My favorite Christmas card this year
I always make several different Christmas cards each year to send out and this year the last one I made turned out to be my favorite. It has a Crumb Cake base sponged in Whisper White Craft Ink. Trees are from Scentsational Season which is only available till January 2nd and then the sentiment is one of my all time favorite sets, Sassy Salutations inked in Real Red stamped over the trees. A little more Whisper White Craft around the trees to look like snow and a spot of DSP behind the panel and you have my favorite quickie Christmas Card of the season.

Club Christmas Gifts
I have seen these adorable Paper Snip Holders all over the internet and I just had to make some for my favorite stampin' friends, my club members. We meet every month and I always look forward to seeing them all. Not only do we enjoy stampin', we enjoy each others company. Tomorrow we are meeting for the last time this year, where did the year go?
I used the Petal Cone Die and Candy Cane Fabric and the Big Shot Fabric Adhesive to layer a piece of felt in between 2 layers of fabric. Die cutting them all out was a breeze with my favorite tool, the Big Shot. I hope they all enjoy these little gifts as much as I enjoy their company.

mini purse
I saw this mini purse made out of the mug framelit in the Holiday Catalog called Holiday Collection. It is made to be used with the Hot Chocolate Mug but Penny Smiley thought to turn it on it's side and make a purse out of it. I made 10 of these to give to my Girl Scouts yesterday and put a Hershey mini candy bar inside but it stuck out the sides so I am hunting for a smaller piece of candy to put in and be completely hidden.
You start by using the 1/2" Circle Punch and punching along the top of a strip of cardstock, I used Real Red. Then place the mug framelit so the handle frames the hole you just punched. Do this twice for the front and back of the purse. I ran my purses thru a Stampin' Up! Embossing Folder and tried several but this one from the Delicate Designs Folder on page 188 was my favorite. I made a little insert out of a piece of cardstock that measured 1"x1 1/2" and scored along the side. Lined up the bottom of cardstock and purse and adhere with sticky strip and embellished! Aren't they adorable? I don't know who like them the best, the girls or their Moms.

The joy of opening that SU! box.
I came home today from voting and doing errands and there on the table on the porch was a sight I love to see. A Stampin' Up! box just waiting for me to unpack and sort the orders and see what I got for myself. This order was from the awesome 15% off sale SU! ran last Monday. I started including a card in with my customer's orders and today I am sharing the card they will get in their bags. I saw a card like this on Pinterest and didn't really pin it just tried to remember how it looked. Well, mine doesn't look anything like the one I remembered but I like it anyways. It uses the Holiday Frame Embossing Folder from the Holiday Catalog and that made all the difference. A little Champagne Glitter Paper doesn't hurt either.

Vintage Sympathy
Yes, another sympathy card but this one is for my daughter to send to the sister of a classmate of hers in high school. Tough to lose anyone but 24 years is not enough time on earth in my humble opinion. I tried to go vintage here and I sponged in Sahara Sand but wished I had gone with Crumb Cake.

Thank you cards for orders this month
I needed a thank you card for someone who ordered from me this month and it turned out so cute I decided to make one for everyone who ordered from me this month. It uses the Hostess Set, Priority Mail and Sassy Salutations. Easy to make with the Postage Punch and the Scallop Square Punch, good thing since I made a bunch of these this afternoon. I do truly appreciate each and every order I get.

Desktop Display Calendar Case
So I needed a couple of dollars more to make an order come to the magic $150 level so I could get $25 in free merchandise, admit it, we all play that game. Anyways, I decided to give the Desktop Display Calendar Case, item # 127033, on page 22 of the Holiday Catalog a try. You can order an already done for you 2013 calendar inserts too but I decided to give it a go myself. The Desktop Display Calendar Case is only $1.95 so what do you have to lose. I think these would make adorable Christmas presents. Here is the insert I made for October of this year. I used Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper and French Foliage Stamp Set both from the main catalog. Can you guess what DSP I used for the image panel on November and December?

Card Club Sneak Peek
I have Card Club tomorrow night, 6 ladies get together once a month and make a project or two or three, depending on the project. Each month one of them serves as the hostess and brings food for the rest of us to share and gets to reap the Hostess Benefits of the orders. They are required to spend $25 a month so that gaurentees a workshop of at least $150 which means at least $25 of FREE SU! merchandise. We have never had a hostess only earn $25 in freebies. We used to do different techniques but starting last month decided we would do fancier cards, ones that take a little time and have a fancy fold or other extra special touch.
This month we are doing a tunnel card as one of our projects and I just had to share, it is so cute. It is made with the Orchard Harvest DSP and the Perfectly Preserved and Friendship Preserves Stamp Sets and the Cannery Framelits. The One in a Million Stamp Set is used on the inside.

Indian Corn shopping bags
I made 25 of these adorable little shopping bags the other day and gave some to my Girl Scouts and the rest to coworkers of my daughter. Everyone loved them or maybe it was the M&M's inside.
I started with a piece of cardstock that measured 3" x 6". Using my Simply Scored Board and I scored along the 3" side at 1/2" and 2 1/2". Then I put the 6" side at the top and scored at 2 3/4" and 3 1/4". Clip the tabs and punch a couple of holes in the top to hold the Baker's Twine and glue the sides with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Stamped the corn image from the Holiday Catalog set, Perfectly Preserved, using markers and die cut it with the Framelit Dies, Cannery Set. So easy. The "just for you" is also in that set but is die cut with the Framelit Dies Bitty Banners. The shopping bag hold the Fun Size of M&M's and makes a great little treat for everyone.

Shake it up!
Today has to be a quick quick post. I really didn't even have the time to type quick twice! We did this card at club last week and we were all successful in creating an adorable shaker card using the ever so easy to use Stampin' Up! Shaker Frames. The frame is covered in a Window Sheet and has Dazzling Diamonds on the inside. Since the Shaker Frame has adhesive on both sides it is super easy to create.
Don't forget you have 4 days to spend $40 and get a free spool of Satin Stitched Ribbon in the new InColors. The Back to Spool Promotion ends on September 30th.

Fall is here
Fall is here and it seems that the leaves are turning already. I love collecting beautiful leaves and putting them in bowls in my house until my allergies kick in and I have to take them back outside. As I was doing my daily walk today with my friend Jean, I spotted a beautiful leaf and stopped to pick it up. She told me of a great idea she had seen where you gather up fall leaves and send them to a friend who lives in a place where the seasons don't change. Here in SW Ohio we can get 2 or 3 seasons in the same week! So today's card is a changing seasons card to celebrate Fall. It is one layer, sponged using a mask and then run thru the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I used the stamp sets, French Foliage and Trust God, two of my favorites. My husband looked at it and said it was high quality art, so I decided to send it to his high school friend Mary who lives in Florida and will miss all of the beauty of a SW Ohio Fall.

Happy retired Birthday
Being the sometimes bad wife that I am I almost forgot my husbands birthday. Good thing I have a daughter who loves birthdays and always keeps track of who is having a birthday. I made this card in a matter of minutes and it was one of those cards where I started with no clear direction or plan but I really like the way it turned out. It uses the Woodgrain Embossing Folder which I love for masculine cards and I actually am challenging myself to make a feminine card with it as soon as I get a chance. The alphabet I used on this card is a retired one that actually worked quite nicely.

Staggered Triple Time
Just a quickie today, I have more things to do today than I have time to do them. I love the look of Triple Time Stamping and think it can make some awesome cards. This one uses all blues, my least favorite color and the stamp set Fine Feathers. I love this set and got it for free with my Hostess Dollars last month. Finally got a free moment to use it. I saw this idea used with French Foliage on another demo's blog but can't remember now whose it was. If it was yours please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due.
I used the Woodgrain Embossing Folder after I had stamped and before I layered. This has to be the tightest Embossing Folder I have ever used. I didn't use any tabs and it still made such a deep impression that I had trouble separating the pieces and then getting them back onto the layers. Has anyone else experienced this with this Folder?

A Rare Sunday Post
I don't often post on Sunday, that is a day I try to spend doing things I want to do. Today this involved watching football while stampin' Imagine that, I spent the day stampin'. Well I also made an egg custard pie and let Miss Scarlet out a million and one times and looked at some cars online Cody wants to buy but I spent the majority of my day watching football and stampin'
I purchased the Simply Scrappin' Kit, Razzelberry Splash, because I love the colors in that kit. Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzelberry, Pink Pirouette and Night of Navy, what's not to love?
I have a fascination with 3-D projects and this one turned out fantastic if I do say so myself. I saw a video on Frenchie's blog and tried to make a box following her instructions. I didn't catch that she gave a crucial measurement saying it was one measurement and then she said the correct measurement later. I wrote down the first measurement she said and could not get the box to work. BUT I went back and watched her video again and voila! I finally figured it out.
By now I am sure you are saying come on woman, shut up and show us the box, so here it is. If you would like to make a box like this with me all you have to do is buy the Razzleberry Splash Simply Scrappin' Kit from me in a separate order, not in conjunction with a Club Order, and we will get together as a group and make this box, maybe more than one! If you aren't local to me I will send you a detailed pdf with instructions. So send me your order by Friday, September 21st at noon and I will get the order placed. Feel free to add other things you might need to complete this box. I used Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Natural Buttons, Faceted Buttons, Glimmer Brads, Whisper White Baker's Twine and the Lovely Labels stamp set and the Jewelry Tag Punch. I also used a lot of glue dots and dimensionals. I have no objection to you ordering other things from me as well, order away!!!

Two more days left to get your free Halloween Project Kit
It's always more fun to stamp with friends! If you sign up with me by September 16, you will get a Howl-o-ween Printer's Tray project kit absolutely FREE-a $60 value! I made my kit and if I do say so myself it turned out very cute. I changed a few things to make it fit the photos I wanted to highlight. Every year all of the cousins get together to carve pumpkins and have their photo taken in Mimi's tree. It is a huge colorful maple tree that some have climbed and some have fallen out of.
If you want a kit for yourself contact me immediately and we will get you started on becoming a member of my team, The Log Cabin Stampers. Joining is easy, the starter kit is $99 and has free shipping. In return you pick $125 of SU! merchandise to be enjoyed as you see fit. This kit has no obligation to continue as a demonstrator and is such a good deal. I love being a SU! Demonstrator.

Last Two Faux Quilt Cards
I certainly have enjoyed sharing all of these wonderful Faux Quilt SWAP cards. Every time I look at them and examine them again I notice something else about them. I hope you all enjoyed looking at them as much as I do, I know they have inspired me to visit a quilt site or two on the internet and to create a Faux Quilt card or two of my own. The top card was made by Carole Anne Sluchinski and the bottom card was made by another mystery swapper.

Faux Quilts Part Five
These next two cards are so pretty. They both use embossing to it's full potential. I love the use of the Designer Series Paper on the left and of course you know I love the Polka Dots on the right. Neither of these cards has a name on the back so if you are the creator of either of these fantastic cards please let me know and I will add your name to this post!

Faux Quilts part 4
The first card so reminds me of my Nana, she made a quilt using this pattern when I was growing up and I loved looking at that quilt and she would tell me the story behind the pieces of fabric. This card is made by Rebecca Waddell and the adorable Owl card is made by Barbara Welch.

Faux Quilts part 3
The next two faux quilt cards are favorites. The SunBonnet Sue card is my favorite and is made by Carolyn Morris and the Butterfly quilt was made by Teresa Jordan and was my Technique Club favorite in fact I sold a couple of Elegant Butterfly punches and a couple of Papillon Potpourri Stamp Sets so they could try and recreate this card, so thanks Teresa!
