Birthday Card Surprise was a HUGE succes
Thanks to everyone who sent my Mom a card to celebrate her 85th birthday. At last count we were over 100 cards! We had hoped she would open maybe 10 a day but nope, just like a kid on Christmas morning she wanted to open them all. I wish I could personally thank every person who thought about her especially those who don't even know her. You made her birthday a very special occasion.

It uses the Hexagon Hive Thinlets Die in the Occasion Catalog page 26, $24.95. It kind of reminds me of the quilt pattern Grandma's Flower Garden. My Nana made several quilts using this pattern and I think of her everytime I see it. I also used the Just Saying stamp set and the Word Bubble Framelits Die. I saved 15% by buying them as a bundle. I love saving money to buy more stamps, don't you?

You Make Me Happy Sale a Bration !
So today with the skies being very cloudy and gloomy I thought this was the perfect time to show this card using a stamp set you can get free during Sale A Bration. You only have a few more weeks to have this set reside on your stamp shelf. Order $50 before S&H and taxes and then pick the set See Ya Later for free. I also used the free SAB Designer Series Paper, Sweet Sorbet for the background.
See those darling clouds? Yep, another free SAB item an Embossing Folder called Decorative Dots gave some texture to the clouds that were die cut with the Word Bubbles Framelits Die and while you are at it you might as well save 15% and get the stamp set that goes with it called Just Sayin'. Anyways, I die cut about 5 clouds and adhered them to the front of the background piece and cut off the excess clouds and put the leftovers on another spot. I used Gumball Green and Midnight Muse markers to ink just the parts I wanted to use on the stamp and die cut it out using the Word Bubbles Framelits Die.
This is just one of 3 cards we are making at club tomorrow night, hope the ladies have their stampin' shoes on. So many ideas, so little time!

Burlap Wreath Class
We had a new and fun creative experience at my house making the Burlap Wreath from the Occasions Catalog the other night. We all watched the video and then jumped right into creating. Usually I give a detailed demo and then we all pretty much copy my creation but not on this night. I have never heard so much laughing out of this group before. Most of the laughs were from mistakes made and fixed and really isn't that what creating is all about? I only took photos of 2 finished wreaths and I love them both.
Everyone is busy trying to figure out the directions and not cause blisters with the hot glue!
