The BIG picture

Here is a picture of the non scrapbook projects I made minus the ornament string that started the whole obsession with this kit. In the following days I will post close ups with explanations if needed. I still think this is the best $19.95 I have spent in a long, long time.

Scrappin Kit Day 3

Today is sides 3 and 4. Each drawer has it's own little knob made from brads and is big enough to hide a small surprise. Candy, chapstick, stickers, fun little treats.

Scrappin Kit Day 2

Today is a the side view of sides one and two of the box. The Matchbox Die makes this so simple and fast. Can you see the lining in the drawers, this is such a cute touch.

What can you do with a Scrappin Kit?

I bought the Simply Scrappin' Kit Christmas Jingle. These kits are $19.95 and I just discovered they are a fantastic deal. I decided to see what I could make with just one of these kits and I am very pleased with the results. I still have a few large pieces of the DSP paper and one 12 x12 sheet of the textured card stock. Also still have some of the die cuts left. I am going to post the projects every day till I have shown you all of the projects. I sure hope you enjoy them.

Today's post is a 12 Days of Christmas Box. I used the Matchbox Die and I will admit I used some additional Real Red card stock to make this so I cheated a bit. I think the cheating was well worth it, I hope you will agree. This is a view of the top.

I need a wife.

I am in serious need of a wife, someone to be a chauffeur, do some light, no make that heavy housework, let the dogs in and out a thousand times a day, cook etc. Anyone interested? I have no idea where this week went. I guess it was sucked into that big black hole called being a wife and mother.

Stampin' Up! made a huge announcement this week and I am very excited about it. I know my 11 Brownies will love this announcement...

Stampin’ Up! ®, a Utah-based manufacturer of rubber stamps and accessories for paper crafting, scrapbooking and home décor, has partnered with Build-A-Bear Workshop® to produce the first-ever paper-crafting products featuring Build-A-Bear Workshop brand. The exclusively designed product offering includes stamp sets, Designer Series papers and Sizzix dies providing young and young-at-heart Build-A-Bear Workshop enthusiast endless hand crafted possibilities for scrapbook pages, cards, invitations, home décor and more.

“I’m excited about the opportunity we have to partner with Build-A-Bear Workshop,” said Shelli Gardner, Stampin’ Up! cofounder and CEO. “The company has a strong reputation for inspiring creativity and encouraging imagination with its products, which is what we have done at Stampin’ Up! for more than 20 years. This is a great partnership that will provide unlimited opportunities for creativity—I know I will be spending hours playing with my grandchildren, making all kinds of Build-A-Bear creations.”

Transforming Build-A-Bear Workshop characters into a crafting line is one of the many ways Stampin’ Up! and its demonstrators plan to excite the next generation of crafters while revitalizing the art of creating and giving handcrafted items.

“Like Build-A-Bear Workshop, Stampin’ Up! is a company that offers a variety of ways to express creativity. We are excited to partner with them to inspire the imagination in kids of all ages and to encourage this great hands-on activity.” said Maxine Clark, founder, chairman, and chief executive bear of Build-A-Bear Workshop.

Just a quick side note

Just a quick side note of other things that go on in my life. I have a daughter, she is 21 and a very talented photography student. Won't you please go to Capture Cincinnati and vote for one or all of her photographs, please? She has made it on to the DVD for 2 years in a row and really wants to make it into the book. Strange thing is this all depends on you, not her fantastic photos, but on her popularity and her ability to get votes. So won't you please click here and register and then click on the Yes, I dig it button on top of her photos to vote for her.
And on a stamping note.... DEAL OF THE WEEK #3 is the Fire Square Brads, page 179. Regularly priced at $10.95 now just $6.99. I will be placing an order on Thursday so contact me and order today!!!

More new goodies

The Medallion Background Stamp caught my eye when I first saw it on the front cover. So it had to be on my first order. I had an idea in my head right from the start and the card I started to make was nothing like the card I ended up making. I used Bermuda Bay as the card base and ended up using Basic Black as the compliment. Who knew that the Rhinestone Brads in the Circle Ice Rhinestone Brads on page 179 would be so striking with this color combo. I used the sentiment from the Hostess Level One set Holiday Best framed by the Scalloped Oval Punch. Did I start out to make a Halloween Card..... no. Do I like how it turned out......yes, very much.

New Goodies

Well my favorite UPS man, Owen was here promptly at 11 and brought me my package of new catalog goodies. Before I go play I had to show you the ribbon sampler ring I ordered. Have you ever wanted to order ribbon but you weren't sure of exactly what the ribbon looked like from the catalog description? I am such a visual person I had to get this ribbon sampler ring to share with all of you. Only one problem, now I want all of the ribbons. Are you in the New Richmond area? Well then email me to set up a time for you to come look at all of the beautiful ribbons yourself.

Want to get in on a Ribbon Share? For $13.99 you can get 3 yards of each of the 6 new InColor Polka Dot 1/2 inch Grosgrain Ribbon. Hurry there are only 4 spots left in this share, contact me today.

3x3 Friends

Floating around on the interweb as my Mom calls it is a cute flower that reminds me of the popular Prima Flowers. Not only are these flowers expensive they often don't match the project I'm working on. So by taking the Scallop Circle Punch and snipping here and there, a little sponging of the edges, a little work with smooshing petals and there you go an adorable flower that matches your project like only Stampin' Up! can.

I am virtually sending this card to someone on SCS, MsBetsyZ, she took the time to tell me there was a problem on my blog. She is so nice, maybe one of the nicest people on SCS! So Betsy this one is for you!

Deal of the week

Since Stampin' Up!'s deal of the week is the Scallop Edge Punch available until the 5th for $10.99 I decided I should use it in today's card. I saw this great flower pot on Patty Bennet's blog, she is so talented. So I tried it myself two ways, enjoy.
