Last Two Faux Quilt Cards

I certainly have enjoyed sharing all of these wonderful Faux Quilt SWAP cards.  Every time I look at them and examine them again I notice something else about them.  I hope you all enjoyed looking at them as much as I do, I know they have inspired me to visit a quilt site or two on the internet and to create a Faux Quilt card or two of my own.  The top card was made by Carole Anne Sluchinski and the bottom card was made by another mystery swapper.

Faux Quilts Part Five

These next two cards are so pretty.  They both use embossing to it's full potential.  I love the use of the Designer Series Paper on the left and of course you know I love the Polka Dots on the right.  Neither of these cards has a name on the back so if you are the creator of either of these fantastic cards please let me know and I will add your name to this post!

Faux Quilts part 4

The first card so reminds me of my Nana, she made a quilt using this pattern when I was growing up and I loved looking at that quilt and she would tell me the story behind the pieces of fabric.  This card is made by Rebecca Waddell and the adorable Owl card is made by Barbara Welch.

Faux Quilts part 3

The next two faux quilt cards are favorites.  The SunBonnet Sue card is my favorite and is made by Carolyn Morris and the Butterfly quilt was made by Teresa Jordan and was my Technique Club favorite in fact I sold a couple of Elegant Butterfly punches and a couple of Papillon Potpourri Stamp Sets so they could try and recreate this card, so thanks Teresa!

Faux Quilts part 2

The next two cards are made by 2 very talented stampers in my opinion.  The card on the top is made by Sheryl Wheatley from Ohio and the other is made by Sara Guilbault from Canada.  What fun, one in my home state and the other from outside the United States, another great perk of being a Stampin' Up! Demo.

Faux Quilt SWAP Part 1

Even though I didn't get to go to the SU! Convention this year I did get to join in a Faux Quilt SWAP thanks to Arlene who was my proxy and to Jan who hosted the SWAP and graciously let me join.  My technique club members were crazy about these cards and I thought I would share them on my blog.  The one of the left is made by Arlene Bridges and the one on the right is made by yours truly.

Good Chickies

We are having such good chicken success lately.  First, all 6 hens are now roosting in the coop instead of sleeping on top of each other in a chicken pyramid in the old nesting box.  AND two days in a row all 6 hens are laying eggs.  That's a dozen eggs in 2 days!!!   Anyone have any good egg recipes?   First photo is 5 out of the 6 eggs from yesterday, look at the size of the one on the right, WOWZER.  Second photo is today's eggs.  I promise to get back to stampin' tomorrow although I can't promise it won't be a scrapbook page of the hens.  I love our hens!

Hoop LaLa Birthday

I needed a card for my favorite Aunt who will be celebrating her birthday this weekend.  Of course I procrastinated and left it till the day after it probably should have gone in the mailbox.  She knows I am the Queen of Procrastinators so she will understand if it arrives late.

I used some of the fabric that is retired and is now only 99 cents for 3 fat quarters.  Actually the fabric is bigger than a fat quarter so 99 cents is a HUGE deal.  There now I don't feel crazy for ordering 6 of each of the 4 designs that are on sale on the Clearance Rack.  I took a piece of the fabric and cut out a square a little larger than the scallop on the Big Shot Die and also cut out a square of the Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheet and adhered them together.  Then I ran it thru the Big Shot.  Stamped the background using tone on tone Daffodil Delight with the Sweet Stitches Jumbo Wheel.  I cut my wheel apart and made separate stamps out of it so mine might not look exactly like the wheel.  Stamped the embroidery hoop in Crumb Cake marker and Versamark on the "metal" part and embossed that part with Silver Embossing Powder.  Looks really cute in person.  The rest is pretty self explanatory and I hope she enjoys getting it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Christmas Cheer for Jean

My friend Jean brought over a card making magazine that taught you about balance and colors and all of that artsy stuff and we were enjoying looking thru the examples.  On one page was an adorable tag with a snowman face, just the face not the outline.  I thought I could do that with the Stylin' Snowfolk, (forgive me if that isn't the real name,) stamp set in the catalog.  But unfortunately, I don't own that set, yet anyway.  So I got out Snow Much Fun and made this card.  I love the results although I am thinking I might need to gussy it up a little.  Any suggestions?

Breaking news!

I don't often talk about my personal life but today you are going to get a glimpse into life at the Becker's.  We have 6 chickens that the kids talked me into getting while Bert was training for his new Apple job in California.  He told me before he left not to buy any real estate but he never said not to get any new animals.  So we got 6 chickens at Tractor Supply and Kaylee raised them in her condo till they were old enough to be outside and Cody got a coop built.  Well fast forward to today, Cody let the girls out this morning and saw an egg with a very thin shell in the middle of the coop.  His favorite chicken, Ava, was not running around with the rest of them so Cody put more straw in the coop and put her in there too.  When he went out to check on her she was under the coop singing the chicken laying song so he scooped her up and put her back in the coop and viola, a beautiful brown egg.  So that is 2 eggs in one day!   It's a banner day at the Becker farm.  And no, not the crazy farm either.

Butterfly Birthday

Kindness Matters is a very versatile stamp set and is so inexpensive that I think everyone should own it.  I may be a little bias but it is what it is.  My cousin Linda is having a birthday and I made a Christmas card using this same basic layout and decided to use the same basic layout for a birthday card.  An embossed panel on a card really makes things pop and is a perfect canvas for some fussy cut butterflies.  Basic Rhinestones add the perfect touch, the new 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon is so easy to tie and is one of my favorite new accesories.

With Sympathy

A dear online friend's Father passed away and I wanted to send a card.  I seem to make way too many sympathy cards lately.  I used the stamp set, Betsy's Blossom, and my favorite In Color, Midnight Muse.  Midnight Muse looks great with Basic Gray.  The sentiment is from the stamp set Blessings From Heaven a must have sentiment set for me.
