Hearts for Haitians

HAITIAN DISASTER RELIEF

On January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in its wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope. As Stampin′ Up! lovers, we can help make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of this earthquake by purchasing the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set.

From now until February 28, 2010, $2 from every
I {Heart} Hearts stamp set sold will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

This time is no different.

And I for one am proud to be a part of such a wonderful caring company. contact me today to purchase your set.

Valentine Bookmark

I made some more bookmarks using the 1 x 8 clear bags. I had to get 100 of them so I had best use them whenever the occasion arises!!! I love the eyelet border punch and the way it looks on both sides of the Whisper White insert. When the candy inside is gone the flap can be put back down and used as a bookmark. Want one ? They are for sale down at Passage Bookstore on Front St. in New Richmond. Tell Annette I sent you.

Technique Club tomorrow night

My favorite night of the month is coming up fast. Technique Club is the third Tuesday of each month. Six fantastic ladies come to my house and we learn a new technique and have a great time in each others company. This month is our 12th month, one year together. I swear it does not seem that long. I love spending time with these ladies and hope there are many more "Technique Nights" in our future.

This is the 3x3 card we will be making using the Reverse Applique Technique. Great way to use up scraps of ribbon. This ribbon is the Real Red 3/4" Polka Dot Grosgrain, I just used both sides. One side is polka dots and the other is plain but they both have stitching along the edge, very cute.

Happy Birthday Barb

One of my favorite stampin' ladies, Barb, is celebrating her birthday today. We are going out to eat lunch and I have a couple of surprises up my sleeve for her today. I made this card for her using Vintage Vogue, which is quickly becoming a favorite for me. I used the Sanding Technique for the background of this card. Dry emboss with the SU! Big Shot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Finial Press on Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper. Then I used my SU! Sanding Blocks to lightly sand off the top of the embossed images. It leaves the white core showing and is so beautiful and easy too. Call or email me if you would like to learn how to do this on your cards.

Ribbon share

I am offering another ribbon share of the beautiful 5/8" Satin ribbons in the Occasion Mini. Nine gorgeous colors come in one yard increments, Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Real Red, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla and Basic Gray. Each one more beautiful than the next and they tie like a dream. You can purchase one yard of each for $7.00, 2 yards of each for $14.00 or 3 yards of each for $21.00. I will be placing another order for these ribbons soon so get your spot saved in the next shipment.

The card on the top of these to die for ribbons uses the set in the Occasion Mini, I (Heart) Hearts, which I purchased in the clear mount and I can safely say it will be clear mounted stamps for me from here on out. The clear mount blocks fit perfectly in my fingers just like the wood mounted stamps used to fit. BUT, I can see exactly where to place each and every heart. So easy and a significant savings. This set, I (Heart) Hearts, is only $18.95 for a set of 8 stamps and fits into a case the size of a DVD. Call or email and come see them today.

Goodies coming today

Owen the best UPS guy on earth is bringing me some much awaited Stampin' Up! goodies today. Spent every last penny of my birthday and Christmas money and I can not wait till Owen gets here with the goods. I appreciate him so much I made him a card. There are so many punch people around made with the ornament punch that I had to try my hand at it. I think the person who inspired me the most was Ellen Kemper a very talented Stampin' Up! demonstrator who knows her way around a punch or two.

A snowy thanks

Made a card today for my Mom to give to an absolute angel. This woman picked my Mom up, took her over to the doctor's office and then took her back home. She went out of her way to make sure my Mom didn't miss her infusion which is so sweet in all of this beautiful snow. I used the Champagne Shimmer Paint, which SU! has continued to make available. I mixed it in a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and spritzed away. It is so shimmery in person.

My Digital Studio and the month of January

I just finished a calendar on My Digital Studio and I thought I would share my January page with you. My Digital Studio is so easy and fun to use.

I am eagerly anticipating 4 - 6 inches of the white stuff starting right around rush hour on Thursday. I hope it comes true and we do actually get snow. I feel sorry for kids today that will never know the joy of waking up to a snow covered outside and not even knowing it was coming. A surprise snow was one of the greatest memories I have as a kid, I have always loved snow and I guess I always will.

It's here, it's here!!

The new Occasions Mini and Sale A Bration catalogs are available for order now!! I just placed an order and earned 9 free SAB sets and a Hostess Level 1 set and a Hostess Level 2 set AND $45 in free merchandise. One thing I was most excited about getting was the free SAB punch, Scallop Trim Border and something you might not even know about the Sweet Treat Cups. My head is swirling with things to put inside of these treat cups. Weddings, Mother's Day, Valentines Day and just plain I Love You type cards would all work with these cups. Don't wait, get in your SAB order today.
They are calling for more snow than originally thought on Thursday so I had best get to the store, our cupboards are bare and the dogs will be eating cereal again if I don't actually go to the store for more than just what we need for dinner.

Vintage Vogue

Tried out the new clear mount stamps and I love them!!! The set I used was Vintage Vogue and placement of the stamps was a breeze. Best part about them they store in a DVD size case and even though you get the same quality Stampin' Up! rubber stamp they are significantly less expensive. Vintage Vogue is a set of 8 stamps that cost $23.95 wood mounted but only $17.95 in the clear mount stamps. Same red rubber, same beautiful art work, I think I will be buying a lot more clear mount stamps.

Meg's Bridal Shower

Meg and Brad are getting married on March 20th of this year and tomorrow is the first bridal shower. I made this card from a retired set, Happily Everafter. I embossed in Black on Almost Amethyst, layered in basic Black and then used a layer of the Brides paper. This paper is so beautiful I almost hate to cover it up. The card base is Almost Amethyst and we embossed the flap of the envelope. We also filled up the card with hearts from the Heart to Heart punch in 3 different purples.

Occasions Mini and Sale A Bration Mini

It seems like all of the mail men and mail women have been snagging up all of the SAB and Occasions minis and looking at the fantastic new products. They are awe struck by the new clear mount stamps and the fantastic savings that clear mount stamps bring. They also love the free Sale A Bration sets that you can earn by spending $50 or having a workshop that reaches $300. And while I am happy for them I am sad for you that you aren't seeing these same great Stampin' Up! products. I have both of these minis and you can come over and drool over anytime until yours gets to you in the mail. I can even have the minis laminated if the drooling gets to be too bad. No worries there.

Stampin' Up! has heard our cries and has given us the go ahead to post the links to both of these awesome mini catalogs. Just remember you can't order out of them till January 5th but you can bet your bottom dollar I have my list ready to go. Look over on the right side for the pictures of these minis and get a cup of coffee and a bib and be ready to drool over some of the most wonderful stampin' stuff I have seen since the last mini!!!

And if that isn't enough... Heart Treat cups and stamp set starts on the 5th AND the Country Living Magazine Cards A La Carte stamp and stationary set too. I really want both and I know you will too. Click on the links to the right for your chance to see both sets.

Happy New Year

So far, so good. I am blogging and sharing with you on the first day of the new year. I don't make resolutions because they are usually crazy things that I often have no control over. My one resolution this year is to not make any resolutions ! I will try to have a year full of stampin', the one thing that always makes me feel like I have accomplished something. So keep one eye on my blog and the other eye out looking for something in your mailbox. I may actually get my act together and send out some of these creations. No resolution, no promise, just something that makes me feel fantastic when I get a card in my mailbox and I would like to share that joy with others this year.

Today's card is still using that adorable little snowman getting some film time. I love making cards like this because it reminds me of the time when my sister and I went into one of those photo booths and took goofy pictures. I would love to know where those pics went.
