Stampin' contest

Last month at club, I gave the 6 members a challenge to complete by this month's meeting.  Each person got a quarter sheet of the same Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper, a button and a piece of ribbon from the Ribbon and Button Pack.  All of these items are free items with Sale A Bration.  I told them they could make whatever they wanted with the supplies.

We had four entires and the ladies voted on a winner.  It was very interesting to see what they came up with when they all started out with the same supplies.
Annette's cupcake holder

Nancy's Change of Address Card

Cathy's Pinwheel Bear

Barb's True Friend Card

The cupcake holder was a lot cuter with the cupcake in it.  But our evil cat Sunshine ate the cupcake while it was in a plastic bag.  I left the room for a minute and when I came back he was in the plastic bag with the cupcake licking the frosting off.  Bad kitty.

Which one of these cards would you have picked as the winner?   You can leave a comment with your vote and I will award the winner with a pack of Silver Glimmer Paper. One vote per person please!

Twisted Easel Card

Club is coming up tomorrow where we tackle more complicated cards than in a normal class and I wanted to quickly post the card we will be making.  I saw this type of card on several posts that talked about making it at a demo's house during Founder's Circle.  What a stampin' dream that would be.  I finally landed on Dawn Griffith's blog and watched her video and figured it out.  It has a tealight behind the vellum opening and it shines thru.  Cody looked at it and his comment was;  "How are you going to get that in an envelope?"

I tolerate you

I got my husband the Dude kit for Valentine's Day and gave it to him early so he could use it, hint, hint, wink, wink.  He did make a card for me but that is a post for a different day.  We were looking at the kit while watching our favorite show,  The Big Bang Theory and I wondered out loud what kind of card Sheldon would make.  Sheldon said something and I said I know he would make a card that said
                                                             " i tolerate you"

And a card was born, although I suspect the lack of a capital  for the letter "i" would drive Sheldon up the wall, it used to drive me nuts too but I am learning to deal with it.

Fashionably Late

When I saw the sentiment, happy birthday! fashionably late, but worth the wait in the stamp set All Dressed Up I knew I needed that one.  I always seem to make the cards on time but getting them in the mail is a totally different matter.  I made this card for a special birthday person and used several new things from the Spring Catalog.  The Oval Framelits are perfect for this dress and I think it really shows the dress off.  Making this card reminded me of cutting out the Betsy McCall paper dolls in McCall's magazine every month at my Grandma's house.  I don't remember really playing with them I just liked to cut them out and keep them in a cigar box, hmmm, I think I see a pattern that developed way back when!

An Oldie but a Goodie

When SU! came out with this month's Best of SU! set I was pleased to see one of my all time favorite stamps had made the comeback list.  Olive You, just the perfect amount of quirkiness for me.  So this card uses an old stamp with the new Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Summer Starfruit, Pool Party and Island Indigo cardstock and a button tied with twine from the Sale A Bration offerings.

Thank you cards for January

I try and make thank you cards for everyone who orders from me every month and this month I was getting ready to make a card when I was struck by a marvelous idea for something completely different.  Here is a cruddy photo of some adorable cards that measure 3x3 inches.  The dress flips up and was made with the Dress Framelit in the Spring Catalog.
