Take Care Valentine

During the Christmas season I saw the tree branch from the Take Care stamp set used on it's side with ornaments hanging from it and I thought why not hearts.  Not only did I have this thought in November I remembered it in January!!!  So here it is a simple card that uses Take Care, Teeny Tiny Wishes and the small heart punch and scraps of DSP I had on top of my desk.  I think it looks as if there might be a slight breeze in the air as all of the hearts are blowing a bit to the right, I can't draw a straight line to save my soul.

Oh Snap Retro Fresh Style

Doesn't get any easier than this!   I chose my daughter's favorite journaling tag from the Retro Fresh Designer Series Journaling Tags from the Occasions Catalog put another one of the tags underneath and punched out a piece of another one with the Word Window Punch to cover up the saying on the front of the original card.  I have nothing to be sorry about, today that is, so I thought this was the perfect solution.  Mounted that on some Coastal Cabana and then on a
Baked  Brown Sugar card base and the outside of the card was finished in about 5 minutes.

For the inside I decided to make a banner.  I stamped in Baked Brown Sugar on Coastal Cabana using the Perfect Pennants stamp set and using Glue Dots strung the banners onto Gold Baker's Twine that has to be seen in real life to be appreciated fully.  I covered up the spaces in between with the Gold Sequin Trim which at $4.95 is a great bargain especially if you use them one at a time like I did!   Take a look thru the Occasions Catalog and remember Sale A Bration starts Tuesday, January 28th and with every $50 in merchandise you order you get a free item from the Sale A Bration Catalog!   If you need a Sale A Bration or Occasions catalog contact me today and I will get one right out to you.  That is if I can get out of my driveway!!!!

It's Girl Scout Cookie Time!

You know you want them…

COOKIE VARIETIES - $4.00/BOX
Thin Mints–Little Brownie’s extra thin, extra minty Thin Mints are covered in a luscious chocolaty coating and made with real, natural oil of peppermint, not artificial flavoring, to create the nation’s number one best-selling Girl Scout cookie.

Samoas–The original Samoas are of such high quality they sometimes outsell even Thin Mints in some councils. Little Brownie makes and mixes their own homemade caramel in copper kettles and uses sweet, crunchy toasted coconut. Bottom covered and striped in dark chocolaty coating, Samoas are truly America’s most deliciously different cookie!

Tagalongs
–Tagalongs are made with a special blend of rich, creamy peanut butter completely covered in rich milk-chocolaty coating for a creative combination of America’s two most popular flavors. It’s no wonder Tagalongs never last long in many households.

Do-si-dos
–Do-si-dos are oatmeal peanut butter sandwich cookies with a natural blend of wholesome ingredients. Little Brownie uses baby rolled oats, never flaked oats. Many customers fondly call Do-si-dos the “Official Breakfast Cookie.”

Trefoils
–Little Brownie’s Trefoil cookies have a rich, buttery flavor and a classic shortbread aroma that delights Girl Scout cookie fans of all ages.

Savannah Smiles – This lemon wedge cookie is cool and crisp, with just the right number of lemon chips to deliver tiny bursts of flavor. And, when you hold it right, you’ll quickly be reminded of that world-famous “Brownie Smile.”

Did you know that our cookies have?
  • No high fructose corn syrup
  • No trans fats
  • No hydrogenated oils in five varieties
  • 100 percent real cocoa
  • Nutritious whole grain oats
  • Two nut-free varieties: Trefoils and Thin Mints contain no peanuts or tree nuts.

The girls are pushing really hard to earn enough money during this cookie sale so we can go to Savannah, GA, the Birthplace of Girl Scouts.  Won't you please order a couple of boxes for yourself or for the troops or consider just donating money to the girls.  You will never meet a better group of girls.

Retro Fresh Designer Journaling Tags

Did you see on page 19 of the Occasions catalog, the Retro Fresh Designer Journaling Tags ?
Betcha didn't.  I have studied that Suite of products extensively with my daughter as this is right up her alley.  She says she wants pages 18 and 19! So I got the Retro Fresh Designer Journaling Tags and used them as the focal point for cards.  Quick and cute!

This one is for my niece who recently moved out of town.  I know she will enjoy getting happy mail.

Crazy Mixed Up Love

The hanger in the set Crazy Mixed Up Love is one of my favorite images and deserved to be front and center all on it's own.  I stamped it up using Versamark and embossed in Silver Embossing Powder. Looks like a real hanger.  I had to bling it up with a Red Glimmer Paper heart stuck on with a Glue Dot to give it just a little dimension.  The red hearts on the bottom are actually punched out of the Whisper White layer so the Real Red underneath shows through.  I used the small Heart Punch for those and for the one on the hanger.  Cute but simple, my favorite kind of card to make.

Zoo Babies and Polka Dots

I needed a baby card and fast to take to a baby shower on Sunday in Columbus.  You would think with all the card making I do I would have one I could just pull out of a stack and be on my merry way.  Well I probably do but I like to make the card to fit the occasion.  So I was inspired by Shana Graf who has the cutest kids and makes some gorgeous cards.  Kaylee and I met here in Salt Lake City last year when we went to Convention. So I inked up the lion out of Zoo Babies and made Shana's card my own  Changed up the colors but pretty much everything else is the same.

Don't forget the Occasions Catalog is in full swing and soon Sale A Bration will start.  Purchase $50 in merchandise not including tax or S&H and you can pick something for free from the Sale A Bration Catalog!  Don't have one?  Well contact me and I will get one right out to you.

Festive Flurries in a box

I can't stop making these adorable cards.  They have such an impact when opened.  My favorite niece in law loves snowflakes just like I do and since she is hitting a milestone birthday I thought I would make her an extra special card in a box.  I decided we will be making a version at club this month, who knows what that one will have in store.

Don't think you missed out on the Festive Flurries stamps and framelits they have been carried over and are still available.  Good thing because I love these stamps and framelits.

Snowflake Sympathy

Do you have a certain type of card that you think you make better than others?  For me it seems to be sympathy cards. A stampin' friend of mine lost her Father in Law right after Christmas and this card just seemed to have a mind of it's own when being created.

The base is Island Indigo, embossed with the Argyle Embossing Folder, next a layer of Basic Black and then a layer of Silver Foil.  The Silver Foil sheets are being carried over into the Occasions catalog and if you haven't gotten them yet I suggest you do so, they make such an impact on a card.  The focal point is the snowflake from the Best of Snow.  And is stamped in Midnight Muse and sponged with Pool Party and Marina Mist to soften the front.  A rhinestone was added to the center and a sentiment underneath and I love the results.  Definitely not a sympathy card you would find at the Hallmark Store.

Let me know what you think.

Looks like a boring card but there is a BIG surprise

Saw this tutorial over on Splitcoaststampers and decided to give it a try.  I need 4 birthday cards in January and this one will be perfect for the first birthday.  They call it a pop up box card and have a great tutorial both written and video. SCS is such a great resource for great ideas.  I love to go to the Stampin' Up! galleries and look to my heart's content.

So here is the outside of the card, lays flat and is pretty boring.

But when you open it up it stands up like a box and looks like this…

And zoom in for a close up and it looks like this...
It totally goes from boring to adorable.  Want to get together with friends and make a card just like this?  Set up a workshop or private class and have at least 5 friends attend and we can make this kind of card.
Remember Sale A Bration starts in late January and you can earn free stamps or paper or punches or accessories all with a $50 purchase.  Contact me if you would like to have a SAB catalog and I will get one right out to you.

How does it happen?

How does my life go flying by so quickly?   Last post was over 2 months ago, in my defense I have been rather busy, my Mom has been ill and spent over a month in and out of the hospital and then we took an awesome trip to Europe to attend one of my German daughter's wedding.  All four of us went for one week where we went to Amsterdam and then back to Germany for the actual wedding.  Cody flew home and Kaylee, Bert and myself went on with our other German daughter to visit other parts of Germany, Paris and London for another week.  Here is my favorite people photo and my favorite photo from the trip of Paris.

                                                     Kaylee, Cody, Merlin and Simone.
Paris at night, much prettier at night than during the day.
