Welcome Kaylee

I have decided to have guest stampers on my blog and who better to start with then my daughter Kaylee.  Kaylee is the reason I started stampin' so all of this is her fault.  Kaylee makes cards to supplement her income while she is studying photography at Northern Kentucky University.  She hopes to become a pet photographer when she is finished at NKU.  So without further adieu, here are two of Kaylee's latest cards.
Do you want to be a guest stamper?  Send me your cards using all Stampin' Up! products in an email and you can take a turn being featured as a guest stamper.

3x3 mini joyfold baby cards

While taking a shower last night this idea popped into my head and I actually remembered it later!!!   I love making the joy fold cards and thought they would be even cuter in miniature.  Yep, I was right.  These cards fit in a 3x3 envelope and open in a unique way.  The little part opens to the right and the larger part opens to the left.  The baby face is from All in the Family stamp set and the adorable bunny is from the Forest Friends stamp set found in the Occasion Mini that is available starting on April 1st.

Don't have an Occasion Mini catalog?  Better contact me today, this mini is full of new stamp sets, a new scallop oval punch, new window sheets, new Designer Series Paper and new Corduroy Brads.  One of the best minis I have seen !!  Of course I saw this about all of the minis but this one is really something else.

One last try

Some of you may know and some of you may not know that I no longer spend what stampin' money I make on my own personal stash of stamps.  I am trying to lessen the blow of my daughter's last year of college by putting all my earnings into her tuition account.  Not to sound like a spoiled 2 year old but this is killing me not to get whatever new stamps I want.  Thankfully I work for a great company, Stampin' Up!, that gives me opportunities to earn free stamps.  I am on the cusp of earning another free set and I need your help.

Till Tuesday when Sale A Bration ends I have a special offer for you my blog reader.  Order at least $50 from me, (not online. please) and in addition to your free SAB set I will send you a free sample of eight 6x6 pieces of the Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper and a sample of the Certainly Celery and So Saffron SAB ribbon.  Also one lucky orderer will be picked to get free shipping on their entire order.  Won't you help a stampin' girl out?  I've got the shakes just waiting to get some new rubber in my stampin' sanctuary.

Call, 513-553-6210 or email me today.  See top of blog for email address please, keeps the spam to a minimum to not put it here.

Happy Birthday Mom

My Mom is celebrating her birthday on Sunday and in true Barbara fashion I am just now trying to make something worthy of her special day. So while looking through countless blogs and SCS I came upon downsized magazine holders. They are perfect for holding extra special cards. Of course I had to make a few. I think this may turn out to be a class so let me know it you are interested in learning how to make one of your own.

Special warning, I used the Sale A Bration paper on the bottom band. This is seriously adorable paper and you will be kicking yourself if you don't get a pack or two or three. For each $50 you spend 'till the end of March, you can earn a pack of the paper for yourself. See the SAB link on the right for the other stamp sets and ribbon bundle you can also choose. SAB will be gone before you know it. Click, email or call today!

Sale A Bration 2,4,6,8 box

Made an beautiful 2,4,6,8 box today using the Botanical Blossoms Sale A Bration stamp set and one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of Whisper White cardstock.  Stamp the solid flower in three colors, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose and So Saffron.  I stamped in a random pattern, ok, you got me.  I CANNOT stamp randomly, I try but I can't so it ends up being a random pattern.  I stamped a flower and then stamped again.  In the stampin' world this is called stamping off.  It is really pretty.  Scored my paper at 1/2", 2", 4", 6", and 8 inches along the short side.  Then scored 2 inches on the long side.  Just email me for better directions.  And as long as I confessed that I can not stamp randomly, I will tell you Bert tied the bow.  It seems I am bow impaired too.  Well now all I have to do is find a present to fit inside for my Mom's birthday today.  Yes, I made the box first.

Only a couple of more days till the end of Sale A Bration, don't let this opportunity pass you to get your free set today.

Polka Dots Punches Sale A Bration Set

I am showing you this card as a public service.  I do not want you to lose your chance to get this beautiful set free with a $50 purchase.  Sale A Bration ends on the 31st of March and after that your chance to have this set in your stamp collection ends too.  I was inspired to stamp this card by a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Dawn Olchefske.  Thanks for the inspiration, Dawn.

I used Silver Embossing on Whisper White card stock, I also used Brushed Silver and Baja Breeze card stock.  I finally stopped admiring my Pretties Kit and actually used a hat pin with some pearls and crystals.  It is stunning in person.

Layered Ovals

Someone on SCS asked about the how well the Stampin' Up! oval punches nested.  In trying to help her out I decided to show all of you too.   From bottom to top, Wide Oval Punch, new Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch and the Small Oval Punch.

Happy Birthday Gilburt

Everyone who knows me knows I want grandkids in the worst way.  So while I patiently wait I make do with my grandbunny Gilburt.  Gilburt just turned one and is an adorable Easter bunny.  When we went to see his mommy and her photographs in the Juried Student Art Show at NKU I took him a card with a little "green" in it. (Small shameless plug, Kaylee was awarded a Juried Award, go see her pics, well worth the little drive over there) I used the new set An Eggcellent Easter and paper pieced the balloons and the bunny vest.  I got the idea to make the egg on a string into a balloon at Suzanne's workshop.  One of the ladies questioned why there was a balloon in the set.  The "balloon" is actually an egg on a string but it works as a balloon too! I used Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and Pirouette Pink card stock and used a Chocolate Chip marker to ink the bunny omitting the eggs he is juggling.  The sentiment is from the Sale A Bration set Yummy.  I used the marker here too and left out the heart.

Here's to Gilburt, my number one grandbunny...

Can't see the forest for the trees

I really shouldn't tease you like this but if you had signed up to be a SU! demo in my group you would already have this stamp set in your stampin' room.  There is still time to get 15% off and a free stamp set any price in your starter kit if you join my group today.

This card was made using the new stamp set found in the Occasions Mini called Forest Friends.  The images are absolutely adorable, I bought it because it had animals straight out of Bambi and of course the bunny was a must have.  I loved the tree image too, it reminded me of that Primitive Art style I like so much or maybe it is the Folk Art style.  I don't know.   On to the card, Jean came over to make an Easter card and while we didn't have much luck with replicating one we had seen online we did end up making this card.  As we were cleaning up I came across a mask/template I had made with the Wide Oval punch.  So we used that and I came up with this card.  I think it is one of the most beautiful cards I have ever made.  I used Baja Breeze and Basic Black and stamped on Very Vanilla.  I stamped with Black Staz On which I think gives a blacker black, and I really like the smell of the ink as a bonus.

Suzanne's Workshop

Had a workshop on Sunday and had a wonderful time.  We made an Easter card and an Easter treat.  This little basket was the for Suzanne and another young guest to keep.  I have included a cheat sheet for the Easter Bunny Treat that was stamped with a stamp set that has different petal shapes in it.  It's name escapes me at the moment.

Don't forget Sale A Bration is winding down, don't miss out on your chance to get a free SAB set with each $50 you spend.  You can order the Easter sets from the Occassions Mini as part of the $50 so click on the link on the right hand side and contact me today!

Present for Phyllis

Today I made a present for my new downline, Phyllis.  She also has a fondness for fruit slices.  We don't even eat the good ones, I prefer the WalMart brand.  Some stampers like chocolate and I'm not saying I don't like chocolate, but give me a fruit slice or gumdrop and I'm in heaven.  Back to the present, I picked up these cute jars and used rub ons on them in the past.  This time I thought I would try something different and used So Saffron Craft Ink and clear embossing powder.  Since I was using fruit slices I had to use the stamp set Tart and Tangy.  Haven't used that set in a long time and had a great time pulling it off the shelf and thinking summer thoughts while stampin'.  One word of caution, be careful when embossing on glass.  Slowly and evenly heat the entire object, do not keep the heat gun on just one place or you will crack the glass.  Guess how I know?   So I hope Phyllis enjoys stampin' with her supply of fruit slices close by and I also hope she enjoys being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator as much as I do.

Want to be a SU! Demo but don't have all $169 at once?  For a limited time you can join SU! and make 3 payments on a credit card.  Remember join during SAB and you get 15% off the starter kit and a free stamp set of your choice.  Contact me today, don't delay.

Happy Easter

Don't have time for an explanation but I found an adorable card while blog hopping the other day and made my own version.  It's a step card and even cuter in person.  The eggs are made with the wide oval punch and the Sale A Bration paper.  The stamped on ribbon is from the Sale A Bration ribbon bundle and the sentiment from A Good Egg.  Enjoy.
